[VIDEO GAMES] Siren: Blood Curse

About two days ago i got a message from Doug telling me that Siren: Blood Curse was released onto PSN. This for me meant go bat shit crazy because i love Survival Horror games. This however ended up creating a paradox for me. On one side i am excited because it will be the first Survival Horror game i've played on ps3 [and if anyone wants to tell me that The Darkness was survival horror they are wrong. On the other side i am confused as to why a game that has looked creepy since the initial trailers is being released firstly only via download on PSN. Maybe not enough content for a blu-ray disc? No. the game is 9.5GB but you can download it in episode packs to save the bandwidth from dying all at once. I still don't know why it wasn't released onto BD-ROM instantly, but at the moment i don't really care too much because the game is fucking great.

Originally i was skeptical about this game, i thought it'll just be another game with your standard PS2 graphics trying to scare you. I was totally wrong. So far i've only just played to the 3rd episode but i've got to say the game is awesome so far.

The game plays like a TV show, you start with a cinematic and in then resume the role of the main character from the cinematic to play through until the next. each episode consists of about three of these segments then a neat trailer of the next episode which leaves you eager to play the next. Not particularly the fastest past game in the world but i'd recommend it to any fan of survival horror, it's the best i've played in quite a while. worth the $49.95 on PSN but i'd probably like to have picked it up on Blu Ray instead because firstly: Downloading 9.5GB to play a game annoys me, even though i'm sure it will be the future and secondly: i'm sure the instruction manual and box art would be nice to have in the collection (what a pretentious thing for me to say) but fuck it, great game, great price, check it out!
