these are pretty powerful from Sam Weber for a rerelease of Lord of the Flies. Weber's art speaks loudly in a way that doesn't seem forced. the style overall is really nice and shows that you don't a high-energy look in your art to deliver an intense feel in a piece. i'm a big fan of these and i'd very much like to get myself a copy. you should too!

LETS TALK ABOUT THINGS THAT INSPIRE ME AGAIN TODAY, LIVE JOURNAL
Usually when I’m on the internet I like to cruise aroundin my internet car and find inspiration to draw, whether that be old photos of divers or horses fighting to the death in an arena; but one thing that jumped straight out of booooooom and smacked me straight in the face was the work of James Jirat Patradoon

check that shit out. Look at the detail in the fingers and gloves. Let alone the cg is epic and the flat background makes it pop out while giving it awesome contrast. Epic and entertaining for the eye.
The thing that is sticking with me the most is the quest to attain a style that I can call my own. They say you are your own worst critic and I think that’s true. I’m fairly confident I have a distinct style but who knows. Here’s another piece he did that I loved

Phwoar check that. That is the most intense, tightening of a mask ever. It’s so good! Check it, he even put it up on a wall all huge and fucking awesome like.

Maybe it links back to my love for kicks. I like drawing laceup stuff like Paul Pope’s Batman from Year 100 had the shortshorts that lace up at the front. Isn’t that cool? A LACE UP FLY? I think it’s cool.
In other cool news, James Jean just dropped Process Recess 3, which is already sold out on his online store so everyone whose into good art drop by Borders and pick it up.

And in other new releases; MR.SHELDON has KILL AUDIO #1 on shelves as of last week i think, written by Claudio Sanchez of Coheed and Cambria, the story is about a dude that can't die and the shit he gets up to. it's awesome. go buy it. aussie comickers need YOUR SUPPORT!

Man these are slick. a lite cut model of the blazer, tier-0 release. extremely dope colourways... Things are shit as usual, dad's situation is a drainer. my art has slowed down slightly by the sheer ammount of things that have been dumped on my head. it's an irritation that will not end and i don't see it coming to a close in the near future. it's just such a pain that all this money i have to spend. i don't see it back, i never will. it's not like when the time does come and dad passes i will get anything back. i'm not ASKING for anything back, i'm glad to see him alive and well bu it's beyond irritating staying home all the time because i can't afford to ge myself a beer. i just found out i have to clear out dad's unit on my own/with my own money. fuckkkk. give me a break god damn it.

LIVEJOURNAL FRIENDS AND READERS OF MY BLOG.
i am feeling pretty shitty at the moment. and with that shitty energy i have i'm putting it all into art kind of like a distraction. for those of you who don't know, my dad is in hospital at the moment, within a month of being told he needs to be on dialysis, he fell down on Keilor Road and broke his hip. He's not young, he's the age of most peoples grandfathers actually.
so he's not too good at the moment but i'm playing down the severity of this and its impact that i didn't really see coming.
anyway i wanted to get that out in the electronic open area.
lets talk about ART.
A dude from work just commissioned me to draw him a neck tattoo of sparrows, one on each side of his neck. He didn't really give me much creative boundrys other then " just make them look awesome " so that was kind of a big plus. so i decided they needed like weapons and scars and to look like there was some sort of deathmatch going on or about to take place
anyway Harley saw my sketches and gave me the go ahead to use the ideas i came up with and was pretty stoked, i'm liking how it's turning out so i thought i'd share the pencils with you guys here

just a shorty. Dad's still in hospital; Just broke his hip recently in keilor road and it looks like he's not going to be walking for at least 5 months but even then; will he walk after that who knows. The days are passing fast and i'm grinding into art daily trying to push my boundries to add more details and further develop the perfect beat to put the polish on my style and get me somewhere. It's going to be a long journey but if i'm going to try to reach my goals i may aswell go balls deep with effort. fuck yeah. feeling really inspired lately and i'm drawing much more than usual.
music... i need something new, but for now i'm really just getting into the Ocarina of Ryhme mixtape by Team Teamwork. Shit is hot as hell. Can't get it off my mind. Tess started playing Ocarina of Time on the gamecube.
anyway i gotta sleep. i got work in the morning. Hopefully it'll be another productive one.

Lately i've been inking a lot more and drawing a lot more in general. May 1st is just around the corner and mid-year courses are annouced at RMIT then so i'm dedicating a lot of my time to ART. Has it really been that long since i've updated this?
LET'S GET INTO IT like philosophers into hell and start straight up with this double edition Weekly Sass to make up for the past two weeks. Current situation: Moving still. Making sure the old unit is all clean, spick and span and ready so i can get my bond back and clear out some of my debt. Our new place is quite bitchin and Public Bar is literally on the way home so next monday might be fun if i decide to go. MOVING RIGHT ALONG.

This is one of those things you find on the internet and the hilarity/grossout of the shit on the site makes it almost impossible not to check back. i find myself somehow ending up on this site once a month at work, screwing up my face and laughing with co-workers or friends about the types of people that would cook up and eat this type shit on a regular basis. Honestly; i find that one to be a personal favourite because i'm really not a big fan of oreos and i find the filling stuff too sugary. so the idea that someone took this much time to make a stack is hilarious, but i tell you this is -tame- compared to the other stuff you'll see on this site. like the deep fried white castle burgers, or the bacon explosion wellington! check it out; it won't disappoint.

So you might or might not know that i love vinyl toys. Unfortunately i don't have the funds spare to build up a collection... even though they're cheaper than kicks [note to self, consider cutting purchases of kicks and replacing kicks fund with vinyl toy fund] But anyway; i saw this a while back and wanted to blog it because of how awesome it is. It's a kidrobot dunny that's been custom'd to have a tesla influenced plasma-globe head. it's fully functional and is a fully functional 400%. Right up there with the flying fortress dunny i blogged way back in early days of Weekly Sass [also seen in the phantom Weekly Sass Volume Zero] Fresh to deathhhhh.

A Colleague of mine recently dropped this on my desk and told me to have a read to which i was quite surprised. I do like Kanye West but i also think his arrogance is tiring when he got a lot of press based on things like bumrushing Justice over not winning an award for the Touch the Sky video. But putting all that asside i read the book and i actually enjoyed it. with a strong focus on the design/appearance of the book; it's not exactly your Sun Tzu's Art of War, but it is a light inspirational pick-me-up style read that would be perfect for your coffee table... Also, i love coffee table books. I'll be buying myself a copy of this even after reading it.

Oh my. I find myself really enjoying some of the new chucks coming out but at the same time i can't bring myself to actually buy another pair. i just don't find them as comfortable as dunks or any structured sneaker. I used to love chucks; but now the design team seems to have really uped the ante. I'm really feeling these ones, the rainbow carries around the body to the inner side of the chuck and ends near the rivets at the bottom. black on black sole always looks decent and the heartline moniter sole looks kinda fresh. If i ever got these they'd probably only be for around the house or when pasting or something but yeah. still a nice design.

BANGIN', BANGIN', BANGIN'. I don't care what any of you say; these are fucking AWESOME. When it comes to the air force range i've always liked the Air Force 2 more than the 1. Air Force 2 just has a nicer structure. the build is chunky and padded, closer to a boot than just a sneaker. but GAD DAYUM. these blow my mind. i hope we get these out here because these are most definitely my next purchase, next to the Air Yeezy. Fuck the haters! I'm in love! It's like a dunk and a skytop had a passionate affair; then the dunk had to give it to air force to raise as its own. what became of those events is fucking BUTTERY. ostrich skin... mmm....

Not sure how i found this little comic on the net but i did and i really like it a lot. i wonder whether it was hand animated or not, i really love the way that Vincent Giard eased in the warped surroundings; it feels very nicely paced without being too in your face or intrusive. i'm also quite a fan of the colours he used with orange as a base color.
